Help Desk Support / IT Technician
Our client, a major player in the Oil & Gas industry is poised to expand its activities and seeking to recruit a suitable qualified Ghanaian to fill the position of a Help desk Support / IT Technician.
Job Summary
The Help Desk / IT Technician performs 2 main functions within company. The first is to manage hardware for all offices in Takoradi. Traditional level 1 support, which involves gathering requirements, analyzing them and then dealing with incidents and operating anomalies. Ensuring precise follow-up of requests and regularly reporting them to management.
The second function is software access. After in-house training, the Help Desk / IT Technician provides level 2 support, i.e. helping users with certain key processes of the information system in place. (Basic training, user database management, setting up reports, etc.).
Responsibilities:
Receive user requests following malfunctions.
Record reported incidents or operating anomalies.
Process or initiate corresponding support actions.
Follow-up of user requests.
Preventive/corrective maintenance of network and IT peripherals.
Software maintenance.
Update IT hardware inventory.
Requirements and Qualifications
Degree in IT or related field
3 years’ experience (in the business sector is a plus).
Excellent knowledge of various operating systems: Windows, Mac, Linux
Advanced knowledge of hardware repair (laptops, printers, access points, phones)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite.
Proficiency in IT network: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, proxy and http network protocols.
Excellent knowledge of ISO/CEI 11801.
Fluency in French is a plus
